Love of the Lotus爱莲

The preface describes a series begun in 2013, when East Change and his two young sons watched lotus flowers change through the seasons. Ink splashes, rubbings, footprints and sprayed colour became part of the work. The paintings developed in response to the marks already on the paper.前言记述，《爱莲》自 2013 年开始，East Change 与两个孩子一起观察池塘中莲花的生灭变化。泼墨、拓印、足迹与喷洒的色彩都进入了创作。作品依循纸上已经出现的痕迹继续完成，让共同作画的过程留在画面之中。

In the artist’s account, the children contributed to composition, washes and lines. Their spontaneous choices opened another way of seeing nature and approaching the complications of everyday life with ease.在创作者的记述中，孩子们自由参与结构布局、墨色晕染和部分线条，再一起完成作品。这些自然发生的选择，打开了观看自然的新鲜眼光，也让面对纷扰生活时多了一份自在。
